Historical & Geographical Perspectives

It is praise worthy to mention that the people of Ankola participated in Civil Disobedience Movement, over 1500 activists involved in it and got arrested as a part of Indian freedom struggle

The Graticular Extension of the School falls between 140 63’ N & 74030’E and the school is located at Poojageri, Ankola, amidst of picturesque hillocks of Western Ghats which are running parallel to the Arabian Sea Coast. The School is surrounded by Paddy Fields, Natural Beaches, Popular Native Breed of Mangoes called “Kari Ishaad”, bountiful Cashew Plantations, Popular Temples etc., It is a Coastal Hamlet on NH-17 runs between Karwar and Gokarna and well connected with Air, Rail and Roadways, easily accessible from Hubli and Goa.

Himalaya School was established in the year 2015 in commemoration of Late Shri R. N. Nayak. It is being run by Himalaya Educational Trust (HET), under the able guidance of Shri Mayur R Nayak as the Chairman and Shri G. R. Nayak as its Founder Principal

The school (Class I to X) has been affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi since the Academic Year 2018 and being governed under the guidance of Mrs. Savita Kanoji.
